Animal Protective Services is a division of the Stanly County Sheriff's Office. The mission of the Animal Protective Services is to protect the health and safety of our residents and to protect the animals, and promote their humane treatment. Stanly County Animal Protective Services has adopted a no-kill philosophy. We will make every effort to promote pet adoptions of healthy, non-aggressive animals by the public and transfer them to approved animal rescue organizations. To help reduce the number of homeless pets, we will ensure that all dogs and cats are spayed or neutered prior to adoption.

It is our mission to preserve the lives and enhance the well-being of animals. At the Greenville Humane Society, we love and care for each pet as if they were our own. We work hard every day to provide homeless pets with more than just the basics of food and shelter—our pets receive daily enrichment, loving attention, and medical care. Beyond adoption, we offer a wide variety of preventative services like vaccinations and spay/neuter to make proper pet care affordable for our community so that all pets can be pets for life.
